Binary Bebop Source Files
I have put the audio source files (kind of) for Binary Bebop, for free, in the download store.
Binary Bebop is released under a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial 3.0 license. These source files may be used for remixes or as part of other works. Please provide a link to http://bangsplatpresents.com and send me an e-mail to let me know about it if you do use it. And please consider releasing any derivative works under a similar open license.

Binary Bebop is now available in the download store. This is the original mono version, available in both high-bitrate MP3 and FLAC.
There is only the album because it's just one track long. It's pay-what-you-want.
You can also listen to it at the Bangsplat RPM Jukebox, though it's the fake "stereo" version, and a fairly low bitrate MP3.

New Website Design
Web site redesign in progress. Please bear with me.
I'm getting rid of the frames and converting everything to CSS.
It's taken a while because CSS looks a little bit too much like a programming language to me, and there are already too many programming languages in my brain right now. I really don't want to learn another right now. I know that CSS isn't really a programming language, but with classes and inheritance, it's a little more than a mark up lanaguage.

But I did participate in this year's RPM Challenge. The challenge: record an album in a month.

Music For The Monsters progresses. Really. The goal is to finish the music by the end of the year.
The main idea is what would robot music sound like? Would a robot be able to rock out to a raw AES bitstream? Would a robot composer use a different scale?
I am currently working on some ideas along these lines and will post some samples shortly.

Greetings from the abyss!
The last update here was over one year ago. Our deepest apologies. Many things have changed since then.
New work progresses, however slowly.
Bangsplat HQ has been relocated and the studio is nearly complete.
There is a new album in the works, called "Music For The Monsters."
Also, there are new items in the Bangsplat store.

Yesterday was Grey Tuesday. All day long, websites the world over turned gray to raise awareness of the situation regarding The Grey Album by DJ Danger Mouse.
DJ Danger Mouse remixed Jay-Z's The Black Ablum and The Beatles's famous self titled double album, known affectionately as The White Album.
Unfortunately, EMI controls copyright on the Beatles catalogue, and have objected to the album, forcing DJ Danger Mouse to withdraw it, thus intending to keep anyone from being able to hear it.

Other Bangsplat albums will be available through CD Baby soon.
CD Baby is a great on-line music store that caters to independent artists. Even if you don't buy Happenstance, you should check them out.
